Position Summary

We are seeking a Technical Product Designer to support and strengthen our production engineering function.

This role is positioned at the interface between Sales, Design, and Manufacturing. The successful candidate will be responsible for translating commercial requirements into precise technical documentation and machine-ready production files, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and optimal utilisation of CNC and laser equipment.

This is a production-oriented role requiring technical precision, organisational discipline, and a strong understanding of manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed technical drawings using AutoCAD (essential) and SolidWorks or Fusion 360
• Convert sales briefs and customer specifications into production-ready documentation
• Prepare and optimise CNC cutting files and nesting layouts for knife-cutting and laser tube machinery
• Support CNC programming and coordinate closely with production operators
• Ensure all designs meet manufacturing feasibility, quality standards, and delivery timelines
• Maintain structured documentation and version control of all technical files
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales and Production departments to ensure smooth workflow execution

 

Candidate Profile

• Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory)
• Working knowledge of SolidWorks or Fusion 360 considered an advantage
• Familiarity with CNC machinery and cutting file preparation processes
• Strong understanding of materials, fabrication constraints, and production workflows
• Detail-oriented with strong organisational capabilities
• Analytical thinker with practical problem-solving ability
• Capable of managing multiple concurrent projects within defined timelines
